Acorn stairlifts reviews sit on several sites, and they do not all describe the same company. Below is a sourced summary of Trustpilot, Which? and the trade press, checked on 29 September 2026, with a link for every figure.

Acorn stairlifts reviews on Trustpilot: the UK score, dated
As displayed on the UK Trustpilot profile for acornstairlifts.co.uk on 29 September 2026, Acorn’s TrustScore was 4.8 out of 5. Trustpilot’s own star split read 85% five-star, 8% four-star, 3% three-star, 1% two-star and 3% one-star.

Trustpilot also shows notes about the profile itself. On the same day it described the profile as claimed in March 2017, with a paid Trustpilot subscription active, and with “no recent history of asking for reviews”. According to Trustpilot, Acorn replies to 100% of negative reviews, typically within 24 hours. We read nothing further into those notes.
Acorn’s own testimonial pages, on acornstairlifts.co.uk and acorn-stairlifts.co.uk, are chosen by the manufacturer, so they are not an independent sample.
Other guides quote older figures. On 29 September 2026, stairlifthelper.co.uk gave 4.7 from 8,679 reviews and stairliftsreviews.co.uk gave 4.6 from “over 7,950”. Both are lead-generation guides. Both show a lower count than the live profile, so they were read at an earlier date. The live profile is the only figure worth using.
UK or US? Make sure you are reading about the right Acorn
The UK seller is Acorn Mobility Services Ltd, Companies House number 02593771. The “Acorn Stairlifts US” Trustpilot profile in Orlando, Florida, ConsumerAffairs, the BBB entry and PissedConsumer all cover the US business. Several of them rank for UK searches. Check the company name and address on any profile before you rely on its score.

We give no score for the US profiles: we have not re-read them today, and they describe a different company’s installers and service network.
Companies House lists the UK company’s registered office as Telecom House, Millennium Business Park, Station Road, Steeton, Bradford BD20 6RB. For Acorn stairlifts UK reviews, a review that mentions Orlando, dollars or a US state is about the US business.

What reviewers complain about, especially after the sale
Lower-rated UK reviews raise missed service visits, service paperwork and rail or track problems. Each quote is one reviewer’s report, read on 29 September 2026, not a finding of ours, and each comes with a question worth asking before you buy or renew.
1. Service appointments

4. Extended warranty terms
When the standard cover ends, owners are usually offered an extended warranty. Reviews cannot tell you what it is worth for your lift.
Question to ask: how does the extended warranty compare with pay-as-you-go servicing over the same years, and what exactly is excluded?
Acorn replies publicly to negative reviews (see the reply rate above). Reviewers who raise a problem often praise the engineer or the lift in the same breath, so read the full reviews on the profile.
Which? and the sales-visit question
On 29 May 2019 Which? published a mystery-shop investigation reporting pressure-selling tactics on two of three undercover Acorn home visits. It also cited a July 2018 Which? survey in which “more than one in three people buying a stairlift from Acorn felt pressured to buy one.” That reporting is seven years old, and Acorn’s reply is quoted below.
The investigation was led by Joanna Pearl, head of investigative research at Which?, and the findings were referred to the British Healthcare Trades Association. We found no published outcome. The full article is on which.co.uk, and THIIS covered it for the trade.
Acorn said it was “disappointed with the findings”, which it said “no way reflect the extremely positive feedback that it consistently receives both from customers and its sales team”. It added: “we are investigating the concerns raised. Acorn will not condone or tolerate even isolated instances of individuals falling below our expected high standards of conduct.” Acorn disputed that deposits were sought or that immediate decisions were required.
Which? ran a newer best stairlift brands survey, with 523 respondents, published on 9 June 2026. Acorn’s scores in it sit behind a Which? membership, so we quote none.

If you already own an Acorn: what the reviews mean for you
While your Acorn is under warranty or extended warranty, use Acorn, because you have paid for that cover. Once it ends, you are not tied to the manufacturer.

Read the paperwork, or ask Acorn for the end date of your cover.
Arrange servicing once the cover ends
An independent engineer can service an Acorn; see stairlift servicing for what an annual service involves. Whoever does it, ask for a signed service record.
Think before renewing a warranty
Ask what the renewal covers: callouts, parts and labour, and whether the rail is included. Then weigh it against paying for an annual service and any repairs as they come.

Can someone other than Acorn service my Acorn stairlift?
